Dorian Warneck
Preditor
A true producer and editor wunderkind who is, fortunately, using his talents for good. Warneck skates in his free time and creates when he is handcuffed to his chair at work. We like Dorian. He was born in Berlin and holds his dual citizenship and diplomatic immunity over our heads.
Ryan Cockrell
Writer//Director
Cockrell has been creating visual content since 1999. Upon graduating from the Honors College at the University of South Carolina, Ryan moved to San Diego where he began freelancing for Entertainment Tonight, Extra, and Oprah Winfrey. After wrapping a vampire feature film, “The Forsaken,” Ryan returned to South Carolina.
In his first two years back he worked like a dog for the National Networks, The Food Network, Discovery Channel, HBO, MTV, BET and a lot of the other channels that make up your monthly cable bill.
From 2002 to 2006, Ryan worked as a road warrior exclusively for NBC properties: The Today Show, Nightly News, MSNBC and Dateline. His highlight reel included the complete 2004 presidential election coverage and an extended assignment to Rome to cover the funeral of Pope John Paul II live from Vatican Square. In this position he reached Titanium status in frequent flyer miles with Delta Airlines, an accomplishment that rivals Neil Armstrong’s seven Tour de France moon victories.
In 2006, Ryan founded POUR IT NOW, a non-profit corporation dedicated to advocating and fund-raising for concrete skateparks in South Carolina. POUR IT NOW successfully worked with the City of Columbia to construct it’s first concrete skatepark and is now working with Charleston, Blythewood and Kershaw. A true love of labor, indeed.
As writer//director for Lunch & Recess, Cockrell has his hands in multiple projects. His favorite part of the job is working with clients to create strong characters, stories and images to deliver the key message. “ I like to see when our clients receive more than they expect. The shareholders are often concerned with my abundance of hours spent on projects to make them the best they can be. I gently remind our shareholders that when our name is involved in creating this content, it has to be something that I am proud of, too. Whatever it takes to get there. Our clients tend to agree with me on that.”
Ethan Jackson
Client Director//Partnership Development
Prior to receiving his master’s in integrated communications in 2001 from the regular University of South Carolina, not the Honors College, Jackson had already found his calling working with marketing directors at Shell Oil, Sony Music and copywriters at Grey Advertising in Spain.
After receiving his master’s he jumped straight into the New York advertising game — working on Fortune 500 brands such as: Kraft, Dr. Scholl’s, Sanofi-Aventis, he was thrilled to have re-launched the oldest icon in advertising history, The Maytag Repair Man, whom he now counts as a real live personal friend. Jackson was lucky enough to find colleagues who also serve as on-going resources and mentors at Young & Rubicam, Euro RSCG, berwyn editorial, Publicis NY and undoubtedly Walton | Isaccson.
In 2007, Ethan returned to Columbia to work with RIGGS as an account supervisor on Coral Gables Hospital and First Citizens Bank. He found another opportunity in 2008, at the best-known broadcast production company in SC, Mad Monkey. There he freelanced as an account director on the South Carolina Education Lottery, Rush’s, and the Nickelodeon accounts, among others. He successfully created new partnerships with The Bounce Agency, Cavalier Films, Hurricane Builders, Spanish Vines, Little Airplane Productions and other new agency partners. He likes Mad Monkey.
He is proud to sit on the following boards: Columbia Council for Internationals, The South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center, and the Indie Grits Film Festival. If he could get paid for it, he would really prefer to just stand on surfboards. In his spare time he also advises for PitchPoint PR in Chicago and the video content unit of The Onion in New York. No word on his talks with the Jimmy Fallon Show (yet).
Now at Lunch & Recess, Jackson is very proud to continue developing relationships with clients and partners who value the creative and the tenacity that goes in to making it all happen. At once.
