Introducing SCDES: Protecting South Carolina’s Air, Water & Land
In 2024, South Carolina took a significant step in restructuring its environmental and public health oversight by dividing the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) into two new agencies. The newly formed South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) is dedicated to safeguarding the state’s natural resources, focusing on air quality, water conservation, and gas regulations.
Lunch + Recess, in collaboration with Chernoff Newman, was entrusted with producing a compelling video that introduced SCDES to the public. Our team crafted a visually engaging and informative piece that clearly articulated the agency’s mission and the essential work it performs. To bring this story to life, we structured the video around three key pillars—Air, Water, and Gas—each represented by a dedicated SCDES employee. Through cinematic storytelling, high-quality visuals, and dynamic motion graphics, we highlighted the agency’s commitment to environmental protection and regulatory excellence.
This project exemplifies our expertise in government video production, corporate storytelling, and agency collaborations. From concept development to on-location shooting and post-production, Lunch + Recess ensured the final product was both engaging and accessible, resonating with South Carolina residents and stakeholders.
